The One-Hour Daily System : My Team Uses to build up Trust in the Real Estate Business: I get asked this question a lot, both by agents on my team and by consultants I meet from other agencies: “Gary, if I only have one hour a day to really focus on growing my business—just one hour—what’s the highest-impact thing I can do?”
It’s a great question because it cuts through the noise. Most agents are drowning in tasks, not focused on leverage. They’re busy being busy—scrolling, making graphics for a listing that’s already sold, tweaking their website copy for the tenth time. They feel productive, but their pipeline isn’t growing. The bank account isn’t growing. Their stress, however, is.
The problem is that most agents think of lead generation as an activity you do when you’re desperate. They run ads when they have no clients. They start cold-calling when their savings are running low. It’s a reactive, panic-driven cycle. That’s not a business; it’s a high-stakes gamble with your career.
A real business is built on systems. It’s built on consistent, daily actions that compound over time, whether you’re having a record month or a slow one. It’s about building a network so strong that opportunities find you, instead of you having to hunt for every single scrap.
So, back to the one-hour question. My answer is always the same. I tell my agents to break that hour into two simple, non-negotiable blocks: 30 minutes for Broadcasting, and 30 minutes for Building.
That’s it. That’s the system. Let me break down exactly what that looks like.

Block 1: 30 Minutes of Consistent Broadcasting
The first half-hour is dedicated to what I call “Broadcasting.” This isn’t about posting a generic “Just Sold” graphic and calling it a day. This is about consistently demonstrating your value to the market in a way that makes you a known, trusted entity.
Most agents get this wrong. Their social media is either a graveyard of old listings or a random collection of personal photos with no connection to their work. There’s no strategy, no consistency, and therefore, no trust.
Your daily 30-minute Broadcasting block should focus on three things:
- Posting Your Value (10 minutes): Spend ten minutes creating and publishing one piece of genuinely useful content. If you’re stuck, pick one of these four categories:
- Market Insight: What is happening right now in the market? A new cooling measure? A surprising transaction in a key district? Don’t just report the news—explain what it means for a buyer or seller. Be the translator.
- Proof of Process: Share a story. It doesn’t have to be a closed deal from yesterday. It could be a deal story from five years ago that taught you a crucial lesson about negotiation. It could be a behind-the-scenes look at how you prepare for a listing presentation, or how you structure a viewing schedule for a buyer. Pull back the curtain and show people how you work. This builds more trust than any sales record.
- A “Why” Story: If you just closed a deal, don’t just post the photo. Tell the story. Why are you so happy for this particular client? What obstacle did you have to overcome together? Was it a multi-generational family finally finding a home? A young couple buying their first property? Connect the work to the human outcome.
- Your Framework: Explain a system you use. “Here’s the 3-step framework I use to help my clients decide between a new launch and a resale property.” Give the value away. Don’t tease it.
- Engaging with Your Network (10 minutes): Your content is just the start. The next ten minutes are for engaging with others. See what other top agents are talking about. See what mortgage bankers, lawyers, and interior designers are posting. Leave thoughtful comments. Share their content if it’s relevant. The goal is to become part of the industry conversation, not just shout into the void. You want to be a known entity, and that only happens when you participate.
- Responding and Following Up (10 minutes): The final ten minutes are for closing the loop. Who liked your post? Who commented? Who sent you a DM? Respond to every single one. If someone asks a question in the comments, answer it thoughtfully. This isn’t just about being polite; it’s about signaling that you are present, engaged, and available.
This whole process should take 30 minutes, max. Do this every single day, and within a few months, you’ll have built a library of content that proves your expertise and a presence that makes you impossible to ignore. This is how you stop being a secret and start being a signal.

Block 2: 30 Minutes of Strategic Building
The second half-hour is where the real leverage is built. I call this “Building,” and it’s all about outreach and partnerships.
Every successful agent I know can trace their biggest successes back to their network. Not just their clients, but their entire network. And yet, most agents spend zero time intentionally building this. They wait for referrals to happen by chance.
Your career is too important to be left to chance.
This 30-minute block is for calls, messages, and outreach designed to build your “Circle of Trust“—the ecosystem of professionals who can send business your way, and to whom you can send business. This is about creating collaborations and creating conversations.
I have a simple benchmark I share with the agents in my division. It might sound blunt, but it’s a gut check:
- How many interior designers are in your phone right now? If the answer is less than 200, you are not doing your job.
- How many private wealth managers and private bankers are in your phone? If it’s less than 200, you are not doing your job.
I don’t care how small you think your market is. These professionals work with people who are making major financial decisions—the exact same people you want to be serving.
Your 30 minutes of Building should be spent methodically reaching out to these people. Go down the list: lawyers, mortgage bankers, contractors, architects, family office managers, tax advisors.
Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- Identify five new professionals on LinkedIn each day.
- Send them a simple, direct connection request. No spammy sales pitch. “Hi [Name], I’m a real estate consultant with ERA and I often work with clients who need advice from a great [their profession]. I’m always looking to build my network of trusted professionals. Would be great to connect.”
- Follow up. Set a coffee meeting. Ask them about their business. Learn what a good referral looks like for them. Find a way to help them first.
I have to initiate it. I have to create the market. I have to create the conversations and the collaborations. Then I have to follow up, follow up, follow up. And then I push. But it all starts with that dedicated, daily 30-minute block.
This isn’t about one-off networking. It’s about systematically building a web of professional relationships. When you do this, you’re no longer a lone wolf hunting for leads. You become a hub. Deals start coming to you from places you never expected. Your business becomes resilient, stable, and scalable.

What This Means for You
This one-hour system isn’t complicated. It’s about discipline. It’s about choosing leverage over busyness.
The first 30 minutes (Broadcasting) builds your brand and attracts opportunities to you over the long term. It establishes you as an authority.
The second 30 minutes (Building) creates direct, high-trust referral channels that can pay off immediately and for years to come.
Do this every day for a year, and your business will be unrecognizable. You’ll have a powerful personal brand, a robust professional network, and a pipeline that isn’t dependent on your next ad spend. You’ll have built a real asset.
This is the kind of foundational, system-based approach we focus on in my division. It’s not about hype or chasing the latest shiny object. It’s about installing professional, repeatable systems that allow talented agents to build a sustainable and scalable career.
If you’re an agent who is tired of the feast-or-famine cycle and ready to build a real business, this is how it’s done. It’s not about working harder; it’s about working smarter on the things that actually matter.

A Different Way to Build Your Career – The One-Hour Daily System : My Team Uses to build up Trust in the Real Estate Business
If this approach to building a real estate business resonates with you—the focus on systems over hustle, on building assets over just chasing deals—then you might be the kind of agent I’m looking for.
I’m building the Gary Lim Division within RCA for consultants who are done with figuring it all out alone. It’s for those who want a clear framework for growth and a leader who is in the trenches with them, building and refining these systems.
If you’re ready for a more strategic way to grow, I’m an open door. Send me a message, and let’s have a frank conversation about where you are and where you want to go. No pressure, no pitch. Just a real talk about what it takes to build a career that lasts.
